As a Senior Software Developer you’ll develop software, design and architect innovative software solutions and drive innovation within a small and collaborative team, ensuring that all internal solutions are making use of the latest tech innovations to keep them on the cutting edge. You’ll be working on a mix of existing and greenfield development. There’s currently 3 major projects that you’ll be involved with; two of the existing projects are using a mix of C# ASP.NET & MVC and .NET Core & React. The third project, which will be completely greenfield is where things get really exciting – The CTO is really keen for the Developers to drive the technology choices within the team. You’ll be given full autonomy to research and choose which frameworks to use, so if you like playing around with technology then this is a perfect place for you to thrive. There’s also plans in the next 12-18 months to start looking at Machine Learning/AI and Data Science solutions.

You will also be involved with Azure based solutions and deployments, management of services and leveraging the latest technology to help improve their software deployments. The plan is to move the whole business to the cloud by 2022.

To be considered for this Senior Software Developer role you’ll need to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in .NET Development, C# ASP.NET, MVC
  • Front End JavaScript framework
  • HTML, CSS
  • MS SQL
  • Experience with Source Code management solutions
  • Experience working with Project Management tools/Agile/Kanban

Any experience of the following would be beneficial but not essential:

  • Experience working in Cloud technologies (preferably Azure)
  • Experience with .NET Core
  • Experience in working in either Android or iOS

The role is currently fully remote working, but when COVID restrictions lift it will be a mix of 2-3 days working in the Wolverhampton office and the rest working from home.

My client, a market-leading European Fintech business, who have developed an award-winning AI Platform are looking for a Senior SRE Engineer to join their team. They’ve had an incredible 2020, with the first half of the year net profit up 103% and operating profit up 94%. They’re going through a really exciting period of growth within the software team, with them hiring for multiple Engineers, across Development and Data – this Senior SRE Engineer role is seen as a key hire for them.

The Site Reliability Engineering team is currently Mid-Level heavy, and the CTO has identified a need for a Senior SRE Engineer to come in and help drive process and provide a strategic view, as well as mentoring the other members of the team. The kind of personality they’re looking for is somebody who’s not afraid of saying “I don’t know the answer to that, but let me go and do some research and come back with some viable options” and has a real drive and can-do attitude. The focus for the Senior SRE Engineer will include:

  • Minimising downtime to products & services
  • Ensuring the platform is scalable and completely automated
  • Shortening Development Lifecycles

  • Configuration Management tools – such as Ansible, CFEngine, Chef, Puppet, Salt
  • Managed & Implemented large server migrations to Docker containers
